Shooting FAQ

How do I shoot a basketball with proper form?

Set your base with shooting foot slightly forward, keep the ball in a consistent shot pocket, track the elbow straight under the ball, and hold the follow-through until the ball hits the rim. Fix one link at a time — never all four in one session.

How can I improve my shooting percentage quickly?

Track every session, take only game-speed reps after warm-up, film yourself weekly, and fix one form cue per week. Most players see 5–10% FG% gains inside 30 days when they measure and correct.

What's a good shooting percentage?

For amateur players: 45%+ FG, 33%+ 3PT, and 75%+ FT is solid. Use the Shooting Percentage Calculator to see where you stand and what effective FG% you're producing.

How many shots should I take per day?

Quality beats volume. 200–300 focused, game-speed reps with tracked results outperforms 1,000 lazy shots. Break sessions into 5-spot form work, movement reps, and finishing.
